When did you become a volunteer & when did you decide to join Arcola (if different)?

I have always loved volunteer and feel like it’s a great way to show ones appreciation for all they have. I chose to volunteer at Arcola after I moved here from old apartment in Ashburn. I was originally going to apply at the Ashburn firehouse.

Why did you become a volunteer & Why did you join  Arcola?

I felt like it would help me figure out what career path I want to follow and also feel like it was a great opportunity to do something in my community.

What positions in the department have you held?   What have you learned from them?

I haven’t held any high position because I’m new but I’m learning a lot as a red shirt at the moment.

What was/is your “day job”?

I work at Nandos peri peri,  a restaurant in one Loudoun.

What community involvement do you have outside the department?

I help out every Sunday at my church and also through my interact club.

How do you feel your service has enriched your life/your family’s life?

I’ve learned more about being appreciative and always giving when I can.

What would you say to someone today who is interested in joining the fire and rescue service? Would you advise them to join Arcola and Why?

I would advice them to because it’s a great way to learn new things and also help save families from worrying.
